ODI-SOL Optical Disk Software Interface For Solaris

ODI-SOL includes a set of utility programs for supporting the operation of the optical drive and disk.

od_ctl
The od_ctl program allows the user the ability to set up operational parameters for the optical drive. These parameters include: enable/disable writes with verify; enable/disable SCSI disconnect/reconnect; enable/disable the display of error reporting on the system console; eject a disk; lock/unlock a disk; stop/start a disk; set the maximum allowed time for the completion of a command; enable/disable async writes; and return the status of the specified drive.

od_fmt
The od_fmt program allows the user to correctly format and certify an optical disk.

od_label
The od_label program allows a user to read/write the label on an optical disk. The label includes an ASCII volume name, an ASCII owner, disk geometry information, and the disk partition table.

od_test
The od_test program provides the user with an extensive set of menu selectable drive and disk test functions. Including: Verify media; Analyze the disk; Execute drive diagnostics; Re-map bad disk sectors; and a Read/Write drive buffer test.

od_mount
The optional od_mount program allows non-root users the ability to mount an optical disk.

od_umount
The optional od_umount program allows non-root users the ability to dismount an optical disk.

od-tool
The od-tool program is an animated graphical user interface that controls the operation of the optical disk. Ideal for inexperienced users.

orecover
The orecover program allows users the ability to rename and recover deleted files on an ODIS disk.

ochkdsk/fsck_odis
The ochkdsk, or fsck_odis program checks an ODIS file system and reports any errors.
