CD-SOL Features
CD-SOL is a software product from INSTAR that allows the easy integration of Pioneer's CD-ROM 6 disc mini-changers with SUN Microsystems computers.- By using CD-SOL, the CD-ROM mini changer is fully compatible with SUN's standard CD-ROM disc drive, including audio. Plus you can have six CD-ROM discs mounted and in use simultaneously per CD-ROM changer!
- Included with CD-SOL is a mini-changer device driver, a menu driven auto-installation program, a graphical user interface, a set of utility programs and a users manual.
- Features of CD-SOL include:
- Supports the use of 6 CD-ROM discs simultaneously per CD-ROM mini-changer.
- Bootable Device: Your SUN computer can be booted from a disc in slot 1 of the subsystem.
- Built-In Disc Scheduling and Caching: Optimize performance by reducing disc swapping. 300% or better increase in performance is possible.
- Animated Graphical User Interface: Allows for easy mounting and dismounting of discs.
- Supports Audio: Play your favourite CD Audio discs.
- Network Accessible: Mounted CD-ROM discs can be exported for network access.
- No Additional Hardware Required: The CD-SOL subsystem uses the SCSI bus (only one SCSI address used per subsystem).
- Simple Installation: Menu driven installation program provided.
- Optional Developers Kit Available: Allows programmers the ability to develop applications that directly control the mini-changers.
