Hurricane Katrina Strikes. InStar is There.

Almost everyone has a story or knows a story about Hurricane Katrina. InStar has so many – well, it’s hard to count. However, in the Multi-Family arena, the Gulf Mist Apartments project instantly comes to mind. Located in Gulfport, Mississippi, this property suffered extensive property damage due to the fury of Katrina. InStar received a call, and 12 hours later, we were in with generators firing on all cylinders.

Despite damaged trees, structural damage, a destroyed roof and water damage, InStar made things right. By tapping into everything from a boom lift to shingles to electrical permits to tree surgery, the InStar team handled every aspect of this extensive restoration, both inside and out. Water damage was rectified. Drywall was installed and painted to perfection. Doors and countertops were installed, while appliances, carpet, and even mini-blinds were replaced. Construction services repaired the compromised structure as well as re-shingling the roof.

Once every shred of debris was cleared away, no one could believe how great the Gulf Mist Apartments looked. That’s why the property manager still counts on InStar today.
