Retail Emergency - InStar to the Rescue
A tornado hit a city in Tennessee − hard. A major retailer sustained serious flooding and water damage. With the collapse of a front wall and broken water line running into the store, the place was an absolute mess.
Closing down is bad enough for a retailer. But this damage occurred right one of their biggest money making weekends of the year: The annual Back-to-School Sale. Fortunately, they called InStar.
The InStar team was onsite within four hours of receiving the call, evaluating the severity of the situation and stabilizing the facility. By early the next morning, the Rapid Response trailer had dropped off supplies and emergency equipment.
Water extraction was in progress, drying equipment was on the scene, demolition and cleanup were also underway. A crane was used to remove HVAC units. A temporary wall was built to secure the area and debris was quickly removed.
After a week of nightshifts, mitigation, construction and cleanup, the store was up and running. They celebrated with a grand re-opening − just in time for a very profitable Back-to-School Sale.
